Sounds like a pretty shitty thing to happen.
But if you don't have family support to challenge this view of your home tutors, I guess you have to go along to some extent. You'll know better than the rest of us whether its best to fake it and go along all the way, or to answer the slightly different question of why others might think you abominations in the eyes of god.
I'm sure that you know that you're not an "abomination" - either in the eyes of any God worth believing in, or in the eyes of anyone here!

well depends how you want to do it...
you're in the UK, so feel free to hit him with article 8 and articvle 14 of the European convention on human rights (respect of private life, right to be free from discrimination)
or failing that, timmy has some good links, and i've written essays, that use the bible to prove that god has nothing against gays whatsoever, and the whole god hates fags argument is total bullshit. feel free to draw on our resources, write your work, but from the other perspective!

you are NOT an abomination in the eyes of god. not the christian god for certain. for regardless of the perversions of his church, the christian god is a god of love, of tolerance, of forgiveness, and if you believe in his path, he made you the way you are for a reason and a purpose and to acti n any other way is to deny his will. you are who you are, and who you are is a child of god. no matter what else you may be, and hwat others may call you, you are always a child of god, and will always be loved, for who you are.
thats a chrisatian perspective. i was raised one, i reguarly debate suchissues with christians, i know the arguments well.
i'm not a christian however, i don't pretend to be.
speaking from the perspective of MY religion, you are still NOT an abomination. even though you are american, and not of this land, even though you may not believe in them, even though others may hate you for who you are, the gods of britain will love and accept you, always, and unconditionally. they care not for looks for feelings for orientation for actions or deed, for they see through all those, they see your heart, your spirit, they see YOU free from all mortal trappings, and they love you for what they see.
no matter what happens, so long as you remain in these sacred isles, you will be loved by those who guide us here. call for them, and they will come to you in your time of need
