With the coming of yet another new year it is customary to set a goal (usually unattainable) to work toward.
What is your resolution for 2007?
Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

To shed the unwanted 10 kg (21 lbs) that I've put on since I stopped smoking in march 2006!
OK, I admit that it's partly vanity ... waist size having gone up from 29" to over 32" is a bit of a shock to the wardrobe. But there are also health concerns ( for many years I've had a healthy low-cholesterol diet, and am on meds to reduce blood cholesterol levels). As I'm physically not capable of much exercise, this all means ... sob ... cutting down on the quantity of food I eat. And trying to like coffee without sugar in it. Target date is my birthday at the end of April.

I have recently adopted the soon to be habit of using a small plate to adorn with my much loved yummy food.....
It gives a psychological edge in that when I finish my plate with about 1/2 as much of my much loved yummy food I feel (almost as) full as when brutally attacking with devistating ferver a regular dinner plate.
Anywho..... If you can control the smoking demon you can do this as well..... And for the sugar, try using brown sugar, it is unprocessed and less adhering to the waist line.
Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

Thanks Marc - the tip about using a small plate sounds worth trying.

I have been thinking about my resolution throughout the night.....
I want to be happier this year and I will work on it..... I want to spend as much time with my father as I can..... and finally, I want to take Kevy to that restaurant he has wanted to go to for the past 8 months;-D .....

Happiness starts with the decision to be or to become happy. Even when sad things or memories beset us we are able to switch at least part of that back to happy. I'm glad you have found where the switch is located. Press it often.
