But we're on top of it! Our little server is doing very well. It's holding this site, naturally, plus:
  1. http://complianceandprivacy.com which I host here
  2. http://partnermine.com which we moved from its dedicated server
  3. http://www.spottingworld.com the umbrella wiki for
    1. http://train.spottingworld.com
    2. http://plane.spottingworld.com
    3. http://blogs.spottingworld.com/

Not bad for a virtual private server. We're going to have to migrate the wikis away in a few weeks and leave the server with the simple sites.

And the best news is that it is all paid for when people click the adverts that interest them.

If you want a blog, come and grab one. May as well have one from a friend as from a stranger!

So if any of you were wondering why I'm a bit quiet at present, that's the reason!

But boy has it been busy. We've had terrible performance problems, and we had to ask our ISP to solve as much as they could, which they did with flying colours. I'm really pleased to recommend http://tektonic.net simply because of their commitment to support. We just recognise that the wikis need a dedicated server as soon as the adverts fund it, and we'll be migrating those out of their hair as soon as we can. But at least we still have the same performance as Wikipedia! If it works for them it works for us!

The amazing thing is the amount of work involved in getting a community started. The number of people who think http://train.spottingworld.com is somehow invading their territory is incredible. People seem to fail to differentiate between a resource and competition.

http://finance-mentor.com

Not sure whether it will be popular or not, but well worth trying out. I'm definitely interested in opinions about it. It's a dynamic site, content alters regularly
