for all those who work hardest while in bed asleep.
You know that strange time halfway between being asleep and waking up? Right. Dangerous time that. I think it may be the moment your brain finally packs in being sensible.
Take last night for instance. As a retired member of the services, I got fed up with Iran mucking about, and turning on the transporter for a moment, beamed the missing men and one WRN straight back to Blighty and into a secret location in a furniture van parked in a Tesco car park. Naturally I quickly beamed the WRN back to her ship. (No point in having someone around who could spoil the fun.)
I told the rest that they could go back when they were ready, but were welcome to stay as long as they wished.
One of them asked what there was to eat. I went to check the kitchen which it appeared might not have been modernised since Noah.
'There are some boil-in-the-bag' meals I declared, noting that someone had already put several in the pot of boiling water.
'What are they?' came the question.
'Boil-in-the-bag best quality BBC Microphones with mashed potato.'
My brain made the hyperspace jump, and I was instantly awake. BBC Microphones?
I felt dreadful. Was it really time to phone a shrink?
