It has never, ever gone over 870. Currently it's at 846. We do weed bounces out so dead addresses drop away, but for the last 5 years we have been cycling around the 850 mark. I find that strange, though I'm not sure why I do.

Maybe you've got one person subscribed 800 times, and the number of 'real' users is only ever between about 30 and 70 at any one time. That would explain it. Smile

What is it that you want?

More?

Less?

Others?

I don't see how it matters....

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

Matters? not a jot. It's just a thing that intuitively one expects to grow over time, and it is surprising that it has reached a dynamic equilibrium at approximately 850 souls.

That simply means:

There are at least 850 truly interesting people in the world.
There are at least 850 potential friends and/or lovers.
There are at least 850 literate people left in the world.
There are at least 850 people who aren't evangelical 'gay' hating Christians.
There are at least 850 I would invite to my next birthday party if I could find them.

I reckon I can do without the other six odd billion. :-/

Lordy! There are only 850 decent souls in the English reading world for gay romance.
