The last academic essay of my life is written!
(Well, unless I go to film school in a year or two, and do an MA, which is a definite possibility.)
I have a few hours of fine tuning for a few bits of work before submission, but aside from that my degree is over... I can hardly believe it! No more exams, no more nothing. Provided I get the essays in, I could walk out tomorrow and still get my degree.
Now, what to do next?
I've got a couple of personal projects on the boil, but the department isn't ready to hear about them, as the academic deadlines haven't passed yet. One is a commission to shoot promotional material for the college; the other a short film of my own.
Are any of you looking for a young cinematographer to light and shoot a film for you? (Or do you know anyone else who is?)
I've uploaded a short showreel to my web site. It's not quite finished yet, but I'm still in the process of re-orientating the site from a (slightly unexciting) personal site to a professional one.

Finally, I will (of course) be job-hunting, but I don't have to get too stressed right at the moment, as term doesn't finish until mid-June. If an ideal job comes along now, then I can take it -- if not, I keep looking.
Best wishes,
David

Perhaps you should offer one of the buses in another post a part?

Best of luck to you Deej. I would love to see your name listed in the credits of a really good film someday. The future is yours for the taking. Go get it.

Thank you, aqua.

It's easy to get listed in a film's credits -- but it's harder under 'director' or 'director of photography'!

Deej, I remember when JAWS first came out. It was made right off the coast from where I lived. No one had ever heard about that "kid" Spielberg that was making that movie. Every one thought he was nuts. And I totally believe what Roger said. You will make some nice young man very happy. I believe that good things happen to good people, Deej. I don't doubt your abilities in the least. You are 22, knock em' dead. Leave your mark on the world.
