After crashing with a friend for a few weeks, I just bought a house. It's a nice place, detatched, four bedrooms, a fantastically large kitchen so I can rattle my pots and pans about and good sized rooms all over. It has a large back garden and room for the car. My partner and I will be moving in just as soon as the paperwork ahs all be sorted out and we're really excited about it. I had help in deciding on this place, not just from my partner, but his cousin and his partner, too, who were over on a visit. I think we can make this a happy place to live and just wanted to share my excitement. Everything's very cream-coloured at present, so I may need colour scheme suggestions, as I don't do decorating too good. LOL!

I can't believe the extent of your honesty! The stereotype says 'all' gay men are interior decorators and have wonderful fashion sense. What's next ... a straight man who is willing to say he doesn't care about sports or race cars? Thank you for not fitting the mold. I, for one, don't care a fig for movie scores or for seeing plays. Ye Gods ... maybe I'm a closet heterosexual!

Congratulations on your new home. I hope the newness and excitement doesn't wear off for many, many months. By the way, my house interior was cream-coloured when I bought it ... it still is because I don't do decorating either. Hang lots of pictures - lol.

Congratulations. I hope you will both be very happy in your new home - whatever the colour of the décor. Sad)

Thank you, Paul. Well, to be honest, I could put paint on upside down - I already did that with wallpaper when my brother and I had a go at his place, much to the annoyance of his ex-wife, since then I decided best lft to the professionals. I've never been one for design or fashion, if it fits I wear it, if it don't match anything, tough! Dylan, my partner, said maybe we should get a decorator in and go on holidya till it's done, which sounds pretty good to me. We kinda cheated, too. We went to view a few houses up for sale, with no intention of buying, as we just bought one, but we took not of some colour schemes and got a good idea of what goes with what so we can put the pots of paint in the rooms and leave a pro to get on with it. I hear France is nice this time of year!

Thanks for your kind wishes. My brother says the place is way too big, but in the area we chose we know some people we were at Uni with, so they could stay over and it will be just like being back in Uni. Is nice ot have a house full of people and it will give me a chance to cook something special for them. I like to cook, but not decorate. I've yet to find out what Dylan will be useful for - perhaps he can tackle the garden, LOL!
