Those who pray please add a woman called Connie to your prayers; those who think positive thoughts please do so for Connie who is seriously ill in hospital.
Thank you all,

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

I will add her to my thoughts ...
Having just got back from a few days looking after my own mother - who collapsed unexpectedly last week (but is now recovered) - I know how very hard this can be, and my thoughts are also with you, timmy.

I am heading to the hospital again today. Yesterday afternoon she was off the ventilator and breathing independently. While this may not be permanent yet it is a positive step. It is still very much touch and go. I have printed your thoughts and prayers off and am taking them to her today.
We have no idea what makes a difference, Good thoughts can only help

She has moved now from Intensive Therapy to High Dependency, is breathing unaided, and simply supported by oxygen.
They are trying to wean her from the cocktail of meds they are pumping in. It is still not safe to say she is ok, but the signs are now positive, at least

There is more positive progress. She is weak, but siting in a chair beside the bed! They are aiming to get her to a regular ward later today. Not out of the woods yet, but the trees are thinning

Hi Timmy. I read your latest message on the subscriber's mailing and that you are still going back and forth to the hospital. I sure hope your Mom is doing better and in less discomfort and getting chipper again. I know she must be grateful to have a son like you to help her. You know I don't do the prayer thing but I did get my Mom and Dad to remember your Mom in church Sunday. My thoughts are with you dude, hang in there man. Love from Jon

Awesome! I just called my Dad and he said your Mom is making terrific progress, and being off the ventilator is a big thing. He's a physician and he says the fact that your Mom is up and alert is a totally awesomely positive sign. Weak they can cure with special diet and stuff, don't worry. He told me also that as people age they are slower to bounce back from medical setbacks and not to worry about that. I bet you being there for her really helped her outlook too. I feel sorry for people who are old and alone it must be the pits. Love from Jon.

Both good and bad. She is in a regular ward. The staff are not the best and they seem to care very little for individual patients. This is production line medicine. They "Wondered why the bed did not adjust" but they had not plugged it in to the electricity supply. Nor has they switched on the anti bed sores device. I am unimpressed.
She is alert, though sometimes bewildered. That's good. Also she now has minor oxygen assist, not oxygen supply, and the drugs are no longer being infused, but are being given by injection. That's probably good too.
The downside is that her lungs are wheezy. That concerns me. This would be a tough fight to lose to pneumonia. She has all the antibiotics in the world on her side, but it is a major killer of the elderly.
