I dream of boys with big bulges in their trousers,
Never of girls with big bulges in their blouses.

…and look forward to meeting you in Cóito.

Nigel
I only scored 9, in the u.k. you are advised to drive within the limit.
they now use averaging cameras, you stand a very great chance of getting caught.
This revenue is very important it helps build the war chest.
If only they caught as many real crooks as they do poor motorists, what a wonderful county we would have.Smile

Oh, I agree. Make all speed limits advisory-only.

BUT if a driver travelling over the advisory limit caused or contributed to an accident, they should be held liable on a strict eye-for-an-eye basis. So if they cause a broken back to their victim, they should themselves be run over, have their back broken, and not be allowed access to medical services for however long it took an ambulance to reach the victim of the original accident. (I am indebted to the late Robert Heinlein for this idea).

The alternative - which I do actually prefer - is to recognise that car drivers are in charge of potentially lethal weapons, and that restrictions should be placed on their use. This is I think precisely similar to not being allowed to fire a shotgun within a specified distance of a public highway (even if pointing the gun away from the road).

for once i do agree with what you say.

why do people want to drive very fast down very small roads in built up areas.

They tend to have very small cars with big exhaust pipes.

with a stereo system that will blow their ear drums eventually.

perhaps they have a small brain as well.

Speed is not, of itself, a deciding factor in road deaths or injuries. Inappropriate sped is, however.

The simple solution is a camera location device in the car. This will not help the police who have a quota to meet, but will help with many of the machines.
