I stopped by the bus stop, ice-cream starting to melt in my hands by the sun's rays.
I took some time to reflect on what just happened. I went to the store to pick up some ice-cream for Jim and myself, and then I just bump into this incredibly..
Then again, I'm probably over-reacting. He wasn't incredibly anything.. He's just a guy.. Like me.. But, his smile.. Why did he smile at me? Was it a sign? Some god-given sign that he's the one.. Doubt it..
It was at this time that I had realized that the ice-cream was starting to melt quicker. I started to sprint, but then, as luck would have it, I saw him again..
'Hey.' The boy said with a smile, yet again..
Why is he smiling? Again?
'Hi..' I said to him, starting to blush again.
We stood there on the sidewalk for a couple minutes, neither of us saynig a word. I looked into his eyes. He had the most intoxicating eyes I'd ever seen. They were a blue-ish colour. Like the ocean.
'Umm..' I said to him, out of nervousness. Why am I nervous? This makes no sense. I'm over-reacting again.
'So...' He said to me.
'What's your name?' I asked politely, trying to hide the blush that was so evident.
'Oh, I'm sorry.' He held out his hand. I put the ice-cream down as I shook it. 'My name's Matthew. Nice to meet you.'
'Nice to meet you.' I said to him. At this point, I think he knew I was blushing. I also smiled, as I felt I made a new friend.
As soon as I got out of the some-what trance I was in, fixated on Matthew's brown hair, I realized that the ice-cream had by now melted.
'Crap...' I looked at my new ice-cream in dismay. 'Now I'll have to buy another one, and I don't have any more money.' A frown formed on my face.
'Don't worry about it.' Matthew said in a soft, gentle voice. 'I still have some money I earned today. I'll buy you some ice-cream.'
My eyes lit up. I wanted to hug him right then and there. But I didn't. I figured I'd make a big scene and end up just making a fool of myself.
And so, Matthew and I walked back inside the store to buy more ice-cream for me and Jim. I was secretly gonna let Matthew have some as well, for being my new friend.
Things were starting to look up around here...
