It seems to work in Camino at the moment, and also Firefox, both under Mac OS X; but not under Safari. Just the board, not the rest of the site, and usually for not more than a few hours at a time. It was giving this problem last night but it had gone away by the morning.

I think it is that Safari Beta is simply an alpha release in beta clothing. The board has worked perfectly in Safari on the platform it was designed for ever since the board opened

I use Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6), which may mean more to you than it does to me. I have never had any trouble with the iomats site and Safari. The link worked perfectly.
However, Safari is intermittently incompatible with another site I visit. I have Firefox loaded which saves the situation. I ought to use it permanently, but I'm too lazy to get to grips with it and transfer all my links.

Safari is a bit unpredictable. It renders pages okay and quite quickly ... unless it decides to go into pizza-wheel mode*, in which case it sits there doing nothing for minutes on end and you have to kill it.
I was running version 2, but then version 3 beta became available and I upgraded (3.0.2, 522.12) in the hope that the lock-ups would cease. They have, to a certain extent, but have instead been replaced by intermittent errors such as the one I mentioned at the start of the thread. Only for this site, however.
Your version is pretty old, Nigel -- there might be some benefits in upgrading.
I moved off Firefox because it was slow too. Despite its dodginess, Safari is the best match for me at the moment. I've also got Camino, but you can't middle-click on the bookmarks bar to open a link in a new tab -- something that works fine in both Safari and Firefox, and the principal way I open a new window.
