I'm taking my first vacation in over a year and heading into the Idaho mountains. My friend and I will explore some hot springs, raft the Salmon River and throw a scare into the fishes. Gonna be gone for a week and breathing the scent of pine rather than the usual exhaust! Maybe I'll post a pic or two when I get back. Don't let the place burn down while I'm away - okay? :-*

Runs down to the store and gets a box if fish sticks......

Hahahahaha...... i caught mine.....

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

Forgot I was gonna post these. Here is an old cabin with the Sawtooth Mountains in the backdrop. The Sawtooths are the biggest roadless wilderness area in the continental U.S.

Here is chubby boy himself rafting the Salmon River.

Since we fish on a catch and release basis, I don't have any pics of fish to show you. But that just makes it easier to lie about their size...har, har!

It looks utterly fantastic! Not sure about the rafting, though: I was never really one for being that energetic!

I'm just back myself from a fishing trip last weekend - an annual few days on a boat on the Norfolk Broads with my brother and a very old friend of ours. It's the tenth year we've been, always at this time of year. Like you, we fish on a catch-and-release basis. Sunsets over water can be fabulous ... we usually carry on fishing well after dark, with a glow stick on the rod to show any bites:

"The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. ... Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night devoid of stars." Martin Luther King
