The Gay Writers Guild

Board Meeting
Wednesday June 19, 2002

In attendance: Marc, Christian

When it became obvious that our internet connection was not going to last we decided to hold our meeting by way of telephone.

The major focus of the meeting was the restructuring of the Gay Writers Guild (GWG). Recent events have proven that changes to the operational organization of the GWG are imperitive.

It was proposed that the Board of Directors be expanded from it's current three member panel to a larger committee of nine individuals. Each member of the expanded panel would be responsible for one of the nine areas of attention as defined by the current board.

These areas are:
1: Management
2: Programing / Posting / Layout
3: Editing of Stories
4: Awards Program
5: Communication
6: Finance and Accounting
7: Promotion
8: Web Ring / E-Mail Ring
9: Hardware / Equipment

During the course of our discussion several persons were nominated for various positions. A listing of nominees will be posted here following the notification and subsequent reply from each of the individuals.

As with any volunteer organization, deligation of the various tasks required to be performed for successful management and positive results are necessary. By recruiting talented individuals and fitting each with a task suited to their skills we hope to assemble a core group not only willing to help the GWG become even better but eager to see it thrive.

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
