Dear friends,
Please add my youngest brother to your prayers and good thoughts. He is critically ill with multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer). Since he was diagnosed four years ago a combination of stem cell treatment and chemotherapy have given him a fairly happy and comfortable life. During the summer, however, it has become apparent that the particular drug which has kept him alive for the last two years can no longer control the cancer activity. The remaining list of available treatment is now running very short..
He and I have become very close during his time of illness, and although he has already got more days than we initially dared to wish for, we are still not prepared to let him go.

My dear friend. You know my prayers are for your brother. No one wants to let go of someone we love. I am always with you in thought and prayer.

I know what anyone who has undergone chemo goes through without the added suffering from the cancer. My thoughts are wiith you, Tor.

It's Monday morning now where I live, here on the Albemarle Sound in North Carolina. It's gonna be one of those excellent days, warm but not hot, no humidity, sunny, just the kind of day to make you resentful of being kept inside by school. I hope your brother lives to see many more such days.
I'm sitting in first period English, Expository Writing of all things, and bored out of my mind because I've already written this week's assignment. But reading this news about your brother really helped put things into perspective for me. The petty dramas of my life, who's dating whom, who's supposedly sleeping with whom, will I do well on my SATs, it's all just so insignificant next to the enormity of having a brother this sick, this close to death.
I don't know how you bear it. I have two sisters, both much older than I am, but we're still close, and I couldn't even think about losing one of them. Or my parents.
My thoughts are with you dude.
Jonny

I experienced this loss some time ago and know that when it comes to our Mom's we are still little kids inside. The pain is great no matter how old we are when we lose them. I hug the little kid inside of you Benji as well as the man that houses him. God bless and take care.

Thanks, Jonny!
My brother and I have spent a lot of time, mostly on the phone, talking about the dramas of our lives, big and small, about his pain and anxiety, and our mutual feelings of deep, deep sorrow about what we know lies ahead.
He probably has no more than another year to live, maybe less, but he wants to get as much from life as he possibly can. Therefore he bought himself a new and expensive DSLR camera couple of weeks ago, despite not knowing how long he will be able to have the fun of using it. He is also lucky enough to have a strong and loving wife, who has been offering him all the support another person can possibly give, and their love for each other is apparent to everyone.
