What two things is General Forrest best known for. One during the Civil War and the other after. What city in Tennessee was he from.

Didn't he run across America? Like "Run, Forrest, Run"?

Okay, from memory and without Googling, honest.

I don't know what town he is from.

I think he was accused of ordering the massacre of black troops at either the battle of Fort Donaldson or the batle of Fort Pillow. I can't remember. But I'm pretty sure it was one of them.

After the war he was one of the organizers of the KKK.

Isit true he actually said "Battles are won by the ones what git thar fustest with the mostest??"

Mostly right Jonny, but he didnt massicure the blacks. However, he did take 5000 men and made 30,000 Yankees run for the hills. He actually convinced the Yankees that there were 50,000 rebels headed their way. He was a good general and knew military tactics.

After the Civil War (war of northern agression) He did form the KKK. For our friends accross the pond, the Klu Klux Klan. He was also from the town where the Klan was born, Pulaskie Tennessee.

There is actually a statue of him in the capital building in Nashville. This started a big to do when the blacks found out there was a statue of him there. They demanded it be removed but the state legislature refused.
