White ankle with athletic shoes, white heavy with work boots, dark calf length with dress clothes and dress shoes. No socks with sandals. Even in North Carolina we have better taste than that.

Hey Curtis, I live in Florida, so socks don't go with flip-flops. If it does get cold enough tho, it's ankle sox with my Reeboks.

It depends....
White above the ankle if im going to school....
The shortie kind if im just going out lumping around and its warm out....
Big thick fuzzy warm woolies if I'm going out and its snowy....
If I'm know i'm going to be walking a lot, I usually wear 2 kinds of sox, silk on first and then cotton over that.... It might sound strange but there is a reason.... the cotton will slide against the silk when walking and not my feet, thus making it impossible to get a blister from my shoes.
If I am wearing sandles I wear no sox at all.... I think that sox and sandles is the ultimate in bad form.
Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

Warm ones from Costco that look and feel almost like hiking socks. Even with my Florsheim wingtips, which have lasted 30 years because I hardly ever get that dressed up, I wear those socks.

Black or grey, ankle-length, cotton. Never coloured. It's from school, where we'd start the day dressed smartly and change into casual clothes later. There's no point in changing socks mid-way through the day. It also one thing less to worry about when getting up in the morning.
Oh, apart from ski socks. Haven't been skiing for several years now, though, so I have no idea where they are.
