I found recently a video for a song in english by one of my favorite Israeli singers and writers. Although not one of his best it is a good song in my opinion.
What I want now is your opinions! What do you think of him? of the song? and would you opt to hear more of his songs?
BTW the singer in the clip is him.

I am biased because the words hit home, I was looking inside my head, not at him

I looked around.
When I was a kid there was a TV Show "The Good Old Days" a cod Music Hall, "chaired" by Leonard Sachs. They often had the Marie Lloyd song "the boy I love is up in the gallery," which often moved me to tears.
And this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3AJnHBQ4rY got me at other times. I know it gets to another of us here, as well.

"Another of us here" here.
We have heard this Cole Porter song for decades, but hearing it sung by a man is a revelation. If you get the chance go and see the movies by Eytan Fox: "Jossi and Jagger", "Walking On Water" and "Bubble".
Just a curiosity: the clip that Timmy offered is a song by a gay songwriter, sung by a gay singer, in a cameo appearence in a movie written by a gay writer and directed by his gay partner and in which one of the themes is a gay relationship between an Israeli and a Palestinian.

Thanks, Gil, for the introduction to a very cool singer.
I enjoyed watching the video of eye candy in swim suits, but I found this clip from the movie "Yossi and Jagger" much more appealing:

I think what I liked best were the utter playfulness of the snow scene and the love that is expressed in the faces of Yossi and Jagger. The official video in Hebrew, with some other scenes and Ivri singing, is at:

I saw the movie a year or two ago at a film festival. It was my favorite of the whole festival.

I'm glad you liked it
Like I said he IS one of my favorite singers.
Gay culture is on the rise here in Israel. Here is a commercial for a gay youth organization that was aired on the most watched channel here on prime time! (the song playing is of course Ivri's)

About the eye-candy situation that was repeated here several times I'd like to get your take about this clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqrS7SBo1oA&feature=related -ivri lider it's not the same
It's all in hebrew but during the second verse they show a very cute kiss in the tv (one of them is an ex of mine )

Love the idea of your famous ex!
I like the advert very much
Ivri is good looking, but not my kind of eye candy. I like the fact that we each like different things

Yeah, we get it on cable at home, too. I don't get to watch it much, since I expect my family wouldn't want to watch it, but I know it's there for late night.

You know, there must be lots of songs out there, written for females, that would sound completely different if they were sung by a male. Timmy mentioned a Marie LLoyd song from a century ago. Gil, do you think we could persuade Ivri to sing this one?
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream
Make him the cutest that I've ever seen.
Give him the word that I'm not a rover
Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over.
Mr. Sandman, I'm so alone
Don't have nobody to call my own.
Please turn on your magic beam,
Mr. Sandman, send me a dream
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream
Gve him a a pair of eyes with come-hither gleam
Give him a lonely heart like Pagliacci
And lots of wavy hair like Liberace.
Mr. Sandman, someone to hold
Would be so peachy before I'm too old.
So please turn on your magic beam
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream.

WOW... J F R! That used to be my favorite song when I was a youngster. Now I guess I know why. And you're right, the last four lines add even more poignancy today.
