I have decided that I need not only a smaller place (I have 8 rooms here) but I also need a place that is all on one level.

There are like 40 steps down to the basement from the upper floor.....

It is a strain, trying to get everything packaged up and hauled down stairs.....

I am trying to get 40 boxes of books down to the ground floor at the moment...... Sigh....

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

Moving is one of the worst things I do, too, and although I've done it as few times as possible, it's been a couple of times too much. So all my sympathy is with you, Marc, and I wish for you that the moving process won't wear you out completely, and that your new place will be a good place for you to live.

Try laying a board down the length of the steps. Slide the boxes down the board. No sense in straining that bum knee anymore than necessary. Pick up a cheapy wheelbarrow to help you move boxes from the house to the vehicle as well. I've moved my share of times and this old, fat boy cuts all the corners he can. Oh, and a kid's wagon can be even better than a wheelbarrow because it will fit through doorways.
