i have the kitchen and dining riim coming in good order.... the living room ia OK too....

Friday morning before the sun came up i decided that i didnt like the book shelves in the living room so i tore them all down and lugged it all into the bedroom..... thats where i an going to have the desktop and my study center for the house... it works better for that and looks alot better than in the living room....

It was a humongous amount of work though... the shelf unit is like 12 feet long and 7 feet tall.... and it was all full of books, movies and CD's.... had to unpack the shelves, move em, move the books, sort them by size more or less... and then restack the shelves....

Strange thing was that i had everything on them in the living room..... but in the bedroom, with one full shelf worth of books (duplicate cookbooks) aliminated and given to a friend.... AND an additional shelf added to the mix.... I didnt have enough room....

I just couldnt figure it out... LOL

So I got a little knock down 3 shelf unit for the end of the hall and loaded the overflow into that....

The more I get organized here the better I likes it.... it is just large enough for me and with keeping the slepper sofa I have room for a guest or two....

Been doing laundry and hanging art all morning.... as well as organizing the hutch....

My next big project is to arrange all my treasures in the big glass front curio cabinet... and find room for all the large sculpture as well....

I feel more at home than I have in some years to tell the truth.... I was not at all happy where i was previously....

I am truely happy now.....

Huggs u all......

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

It's really good to hear that you're settling in OK, Marc.

As for Strange thing was that i had everything on them in the living room..... but in the bedroom, with one full shelf worth of books (duplicate cookbooks) aliminated and given to a friend.... AND an additional shelf added to the mix.... I didnt have enough room.... , I've always found that books just breed. Every time I put up another set of shelves (complete with a couple of empty shelves for future expansion) - almost before I can turn round I'm back to piles of books on all available surfaces!

Dear NW,

You're right about books. I put up four shelves of about four feet in our bedroom last month and they are already full. As Anthony Powell had it "Books do furnish a room".

If you have enough books, when you get bored you can go along the shelves looking for something you don't remember and you get a happy hour or two looking at something you once thought worth buying and so it is likely to be interesting to you.

Dear Marc,

I'm delighted to hear you are feeling comfortable in your new home already. I've had chicken, beans, cauliflower cheese and tomatoes for supper and feel at peace with the world.

Love,
Anthony
