Getting started

Hi all,

I hope everyone is well, the weather here in Spain has turned to Sun again and that has had the usual effect in making me feel a LOT better. It's strange how just a tiny bit of sunshine can totally change one's outlook, but I'm not complaining. Today I was pottering about in Gibraltar and just feeling Happy for the first time since November! I think thats our Winter over now until next Nov, so all good from now on. I hope!!

I have a question about the site today. I hope someone can give an answer about this. I often have to wait for email to come in about new chapters, and then I open them in my browser. Then I open the Source Code, and copy the bits I need into a test file, that I can copy on to my mobile phone, so I can read on the move. I'm not always at my PC, I don't want to sit at my PC reading. I like to get out and about. Is there any chance the site programmer can make a feed for RSS? Maybe then I can have that ready on my PDA or phone when I go out?

I'm hands up, I've ripped all Mike Arram's books into a format I can view on my PDA and my Phone, so I'm never without a book. I've also written scripts to extract TV shows I like onto the phone so when I leave the house I'm armed with entertainment. I'm wondering about iomfats tho. Is there a way chapters can be fed into an RSS reader? So new chapters are ready on mobile devices when we go out?

I asked an author if it was possible to maybe look at someone reading chapters, for those of us that love mp3 on the move, but also for blind Gay people? How many audio books exist for blind Gay people?

So my thoughts are, in essence, can there be an RSS feed for books? Also, is there maybe an opportunity for us to publish some of these stories in MP3 for blind Gay people?

I welcome thoughts,

Bon

Anything is possible. However it all takes work. MP3 takes storage too. And a good reader

Audio stories for the blind are available on one gay website, bon. Check out http://www.codeysworld.com/ And Timmy's right. It takes a great deal of storage and someone with the time to read them out loud. I don't expect it will ever be a common thing.

not just the time. Reading a story aloud takes great skill.
