A few years back I met the only boy I was at school with who was gay. he is, of course, str8 today! And a bachelor! And chases cute and nubile blond(e)s. We met for dinner. We've kept in touch by email and IM.

Today he said to me "I bumped into 'Fred Smith' the other day. Do you remember him?"

Well, yes, I do:

And I remember my then gay friend saying to me "Just who is that gorgeous boy! Send him to me!!" back in 1970.

Do you think he is trying to tell me something?

I replied that I do remember the boy well, and that I remember his asking me who he was Wink I wonder what reply I'll get Sad)

The lad was quite unpleasant. Snotty, rude, overbearing and had the cutest accoutrements and a really pretty bum Smile

Dear Timmy,

I take it you mean 'Fred Smith' was snotty, rude, overbearing and attractive?

Your friend who was gay at school - is it open between you that he was gay then? If so he might be hinting at "Wasn't Fred attractive/" or even at "I still fancy him a bit".

But he's not gay now (you say he's str8 not bi) I'd doubt he was hinting at those things. Could he be looking for a hint that you were attracted to 'Fred'? If he said "Look at that gorgeous ...." to you then he may have sussed you and be wondering whether you still are susceptible.

What have you got to lose? Ask him.

Love,
Anthony

I will ask him one day.

Yes, 'twas the alleged Fred who was gorgeous and quite unpleasant Smile

It was open THEN that he (my old friend) was gay, but, somehow, that seems to have been consigned to history. Bimbos (allegedly) are his field today.

And boy did he drool over Fred! He's on a cruise at present. I've mentioned to him that he asked me at one point "who Fred was". Wonder what that will jog in his memory!

It's more like a game of rather complex tennis between him and me. However, if the Alumni rag accepts an article, I will be out with a vengeance in October! Time will tell.
