I expect simple behaviours here. Friendship, and love. Any advice should be from the perspective of the person asking, not the person giving! We have had to make new membership moderated to combat the huge number of spammers who register

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
Do you know what the margin of error is on artificial figures like that?
When I worked for Nielsen's and the market was divided by television areas as well as government regions, some of our customers could not accept that our estimates of the figures for the regions did not add up to the same total as the figures from the television areas. So, before we issued the TV figures we multiplied them by a factor that brought them to the same total. We called it the 'lacing factor' because it made things tie up!
How can a change in your performance of only about a quarter of one percent be a big deal?
The truth is probably that the whole thing is up to 5% awry anyway and your performance could even have gone up!
Now I have a friend whose tutor told him (after the final oral exam) that if the tutor had voted in favour, he would have been awarded a first class degree, but the tutor declined to do so so as to be sure there was no bias in favour of his own pupils.
If you were the tutor would you have told him? If you were my friend would you have resented it?
