Last night, a friend tripped and fell backwards into a bon-fire. He was severly burned on his back, arms, hands, head.

He is in critical condition and not doing well.

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

That is sad and gut-wrenching, Marc. My heart goes out to your friend and to you.

I sincerely hope your friend is in a more stable and comfortable state by now. Burns are terrible things and can leave scars not only on the body, but in the memory too.
For all the terific support this board gave Danny Stopper and his family, I will not not pass this by without a word.
I wish your friend as swift a recovery as it is possible, Marc.

I am so terribly sorry, Marc. They are so slow and painful to heal from. I hope he has the strength to fight and overcome this. My hugs to you as well.

I guess the silver lining is that he fell backwards rather than forwards. Not that it's much consolation.

Look at this tree. I cannot make it blossom when it suits me nor make it bear fruit before its time [...] No matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach.

How's your friend doing Marc? Is he still in the hospital? Any improvement?

He is out of intensive care... but still in guarded condition... He will pull through....

I have heard through a third party that the doctors are now talking about skin grafting or some such....

Marc, have you visited your friend in the hospital lately? How is he
doing now? Please keep us updated on his progress and give him my best
wishes when you visit.
