I leave for a few days and all hell breaks loose. I dont know what the deal is about younger people not posting but if they are like me they are up to their eyeballs in final test for the year. I hope Jordan appologised.
And yes there are liberal Catholics. Altho I cant accept everything the Pope says as the word of god, I was an am a good Catholics boy. I sang in the choir and was an alter boy and I consider myself very liberal.
Anyway back to books. Love you all.
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you......

To me there never was a deal. The door is open to all for whenever they wish and choose to post. And they may come and go as they please with no explanations required. He was gracious in apology, yes.

Dear Curtis,
How does one tell if one is a 'good' Catholic? I once used to sleep with one and he confessed me every Sunday! I even went to church with him one Sunday and he pointed me out to the priest (sort of "Look there's my sin!") Was that good?
The problem is what you do when you think that what the church says is wrong, or untrue. For example when it says "Don't use condoms." the consequences are that many people get aids who wouldn't have done if they were not followers of that church.
The british parliament has just refused to shorten the time during which it is legal to abort a fetus and agreed that it should not be mandatory to have someone to be a father before fertility treatment can be given to a single mother or single sex household. Both these things were strongly opposed by the priesthood and prominent Catholics. I think they were wrong to do that.
In fact, most of the time, what the Catholic church teaches is very illiberal and that is not a surprise in an authoritarian institution.
Love,
Anthony
