Happy birthday Jon!!

With nearly 42 years between my 18th and yours it is interesting to sit back and think about how much has changed; and, indeed, how much has NOT changed. I would say that society has changed a lot, but the people who make it up not so much. How we play has changed a lot and how we work too; but we are again involved in an unpopular, costly war.

I was once a part of the generation that was going to change things and "save" mankind; now I see younger people as the only hope for our survival. My generation failed to be all that we could be because we were unwilling to make the sacrifices necessary to bring about the desired changes; now it is up to our children and grandchildren to do so.

Happy birthday Jon; reach for the stars and fulfill your dreams!!

Happy birthday, Jonathan.

May this year be the best year yet - and many more to come.

The paradox has often been noted that the United States, founded in secularism, is now the most religiose country in Christendom, while England, with an established church headed by its constitutional monarch, is among the least. (Richard Dawkins, 2006)
