America is finally catching on. It certainly took us long enough to deal with the military issue. So much wasted time, money, and decent potential soldiers.

It's been a while that the UK military were allowed to march in uniform.
I remember reading about it last year.... and a dull throb in the back of my mind says the navy set the precident and was allowed the year previous to that.

The Army is new this year - the Navy have (as Marc says) been doing so for some time, and the RAF have done so for the past couple of years - as have the London Fire Brigade, and Metropolitan Police.
This is the part of the parade that always brings tears to my eyes and a bit of a sniffle ... forty years ago it would have been unutterably unimaginable!

You really don't expect McCain to address these issues do you? It's the so-called moral majority that is backing the guy. And as a gung-ho, ex-military type, I'm sure he wants to keep the ranks unsullied by gays.

I would never expect anyone who needs the support of the Christian Conservative movement to address issues related to gays unless they attack us. People are getting sick of listening to the Christian Right and by extension the Republicans continue to attack gays, and continue to say god is under attack by "liberals" and that the country will fall apart if either gays are treated with respect or if god is completely removed from governmental policy procedures. I doubt people will be so quick to forgive the Conservatives this time around like they did with Nixon and Regan and Bush I.
