I'm afraid, Pat, I only survived the first two paragraphs. Then I filed it under "If you shout loud and long enough, someone is going to believe you even if it is a load of bollocks."

I do not think anything is too crazy for the Radical Right now. It may seem insane to any rational person or most people in general for that matter, but their political platform makes no sense and defies everything remotely decent about humanity. People who want only power, for the sake of power itself, generally can not be trusted with the power they seek, and they tend to be the easiest to corrupt.

... as it is a very powerful and destructive emotion. I find it used far too often, such as regarding opposing sports teams, and its frequent use tends to validate the actual emotion.

I do strongly dislike that the radical right wants to tell me what to believe, what to do, what to think; but I will not allow myself to hate them.

The Religious Right has been a problem ever since they helped get Nixon elected the single most corrupt president the US has had until now. Then they got Regan elected which put 3 more conservative voices on the Supreme Court and increased the national debt by a few trillion dollars. Then they got 1st Bush elected which gave them 1 more conservative voice they could manipulate. Added with Nixon's 1 appointment gave them enough to "elect" current president Bush with a 5-4 majority court ruling granting them 2 replacement Justices. The single most insulting thing this "conservative Christian" group ever did was ruin Barry Goldwater's hope for America! Add in 2 wars with Iraq a war with Afghanistan and a debt that makes the Great Depression look like the "best of all times in the USA". EVERY bit of it done with the complacency of the American people and manipulation of Christianity combined with constantly dividing the US from the rest of the world and political liberals from political conservatives! Do you still think I'm being over the top?

I worry about McCain he is the senator from Arizona who took over Barry Goldwater's seat and whats worse he is pandering to the Religious Right to try to get elected. Goldwater would never have tolerated such a terrible betrayal. Who McCain picks as his running mate may very well decided the election for him. We can't afford to have another person like Bush if McCain happens to die in office. America will go completely bankrupt if that should happen! What makes this worse Gerald Ford's Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens is 88 years old so there is the chance to appoint 1 more Justice maybe 2 at most in the next 4 years. That could make the Supreme Court turn COMPLETELY to the RIGHT if Anthony Kennedy is no longer the deciding vote on the Court! That would devastate the country if Democrats can't get at least 60 Senators.
