Dear Marc and Timmy,

Two days ago you determined that posting pictures that include people on this forum may be inappropriate. I believe that in order to avoid the embarrassment of having one's pictures removed it would be proper to articulate the new policy regarding the posting of pictures that include people. I say "new policy" because posting of pictures with people in them has not been uncommon in the past.

On July 11th a picture of a group of guys in bike shorts was posted and discussed. Not only did Marc not object to the posting but, to quote him, "I took the image to the VCT lab at the univercity and ran an analysis of the pixel dispersment and along with 3 indipendant opinions came to the conclusion that the picture was not altered or enhanced." Less than 5 weeks later there was a picture, or pictures, which Marc found inappropriate. Since I never saw the August 13th picture(s) I am unaware of the difference(s) between the two situations. Marc's post, "Personally I believe....posting pictures of young people on a gay oriented web site is invasive to the person depicted. It carries the potential of being wrongly associated with a gay sight." does not provide the necessary insight.

After the picture(s) was/were removed and the discussion continued Marc found it necessary to express himself a little more forcefully with a post beginning "Look....this is how it is....", an opening that I personally found offensive. Marc has every right to have and express his opinion, but to tell me "how it is" is an attempt to deny me the right to my own opinion.

However, Marc's way of expressing himself is not the point of this post. It is to everyone's advantage that the forum's rules regarding the posting of pictures that include people be clearly established and understood. The "Privacy, Disclaimer, Copyright" section may be an appropriate place for such rules.

Sincerely,
JimB

Hi JimB,

chill out a littel dont fight just accept.

Rules are needed, i know that.

So realise that the moderator has to run the site.

if you want help make the rules ask the moderator if you can help perhaps with cash as well?
Just an observation.
regards John

We simply need to keep to good sense. The bike shorts picture was humorous. The pictures of boys in scanty gym kit was really neither here nor there, but a consensus (which I noted but did not form part of) suggested that they be removed.

Now I am exhausted right now. I haven't had a great week. My builder is a moron and has delerium tremens, and I really wish I had not visited the forum that picture day. Another day I might have made a different decision.

I'm not, absolutely not, making rules about anything other than those already at the head of the forum.

No need for cash. Our other sites which carry adverts pay for the server.

I've been meaning to ask you how things were going with your kitchen. I can imagine how disappointed you were when you got home and how difficult it has been since then. I've never lived in a house where the kitchen wasn't the focal point of activity, besides its need for cooking.

I hope that progress is being made and that things get back to normal for you soon.

Ok...... I understand...

The difference between the pic of the bikers in spandex and the two boy gymnasts were the apparent ages.

Kids have enough going against them without having the added problems of possibly becoming associated with a gay website.

After if this is to be a place of safety.... should it not be safe for the innocent bystanders as well?

Now say, if the faces of the boys were blurred out... that would be different... but posters don't take that step.

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

I remember when my father self contracted a home he wanted built...

He took several days to run off to something business like and left the subcontractors to their own defences.

When dad returned the house had oak hardwood floors and a finished basement that he didnt order....

The subs ate their mistakes...

I hope your kitchen gets fixed soon..... in the meanwhile, get a BBQ...
