Dear Michael,

"As a youth" you say. What age is that? I didn't realise much about sex until I left school. I certainly had no sexual contact with anyone until I was 19 although I certainly masturbated and had sexual feelings but they were diffuse and not focused on anyone.

I think if I had been focused I could have awakened earlier but I suspect that that would have been torment because it would have been so difficult to find opportunities.

As it is I feel that my life from 19 to 28 was mostly a sexual desert when I was chronically frustrated with only occasional lucky breaks - though it was worse for young women as my wife will tell you.

And I agree that the youth of today have a much better time - but with more danger!

Wow, Michael,

So you have, in effect lived ten years more than me - and the years from 8 to 18 would include the years when sexual release would be most intense.

The difference upbringing and chance can make!
