Of course gays and lesbians have the right to demonstrate against bigotry and hate. Demonstrations can be effective. However there are militant gays and gay groups that are carrying things beyond demonstrations by making threats against those who oppose us. I think this can backfire and hurt our cause.
A young, gay boy, now deceased, wrote a poem that should give us cause for reflection on how we conduct ourselves in the coming days, weeks and months. Please read "The Face of Shadow", here ---> http://www.codeysworld.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1439&highlight=
Hugs, Jordan. I know you are frustrated. But if you think about it, we are lucky to be living today. History is being made and we have the chance to make a difference. We can be mere observers or we can participate on whatever level we choose. If we participate, let it be with the voice of reason to attract the world to our cause and to our defense.
Thanks for bringing this up, Jordan. This is important to gays around the world, not just in California.
