I have had a number of issues recently regarding my health. One of which a tiny possibility that I had cancer of the bladder has been pu to rest today with a comprehensive scan and blood tests. I have not got the bloody thing!!

You have no bladder?

Sorry I should have made it clearer. I have a bladder that from time to time. ( 3 in last 24 months) flared up with a painful infection containing small amounts of blood. So an investigation was begun. The infections were caused by my not being able to fully empty my bladder and therefore remanents caused problems. The tests and scans show no sign of any cancer that was considered to be a possibility. That has now been ruled out. I do still have, it seems to them, a minor problem. They are trying a course of drugs and so far things are flowing fully again.
It has been a little worrying for the past 4 weeks while the investigations were going on. Believe me, avoid having a camera put up inside to discover whats there is you can!! Enough said... I did not really want to detail as much.

Well, Paul, I understand your reluctance (and your relief), but I'm curious about it. And if one can't talk openly about such things here, where can one?
I have BHP (benign hyperplasia of the prostate) which is a swelling of the prostate gland to the extent that the urethra is constricted and the rate of flow of urine is much reduced. Impatience leads to leaving the loo before one is empty and needing to go again ten minutes later.
So forgive my curiosity. I'd like to know more about it. Perhaps not in public - but you have my email address if you are willing.
Love,
Anthony

Hard as medical things are to talk about, your experience may lead someone else to get checked out.
We boys do not seek medical help soon enough
