I had a conversation this morning about attraction. About what attracts us to someone. About why person A becomes a masturbation fantasy and person B does not, if you like.

I know I've spilled a great deal of semen in my life over transient images of people. One of my major fantasies was the character Tadzio as played in Visconti's film. The part is not the same as the actor. Makeup made quite a difference, as did direction!

But the logic of why this person is a generator of orgasms and that person is not is too subtle for me. I started down the track of "like cleaves unto like", on the basis that Mr Huge Nose sees Miss Rhino and sees something he likes, as does she in him. And they go on to breed a whole new race of trunked humans. We see that in the high street daily. The like/like, not the people with trunks.

But is she his masturbation fantasy, or does he know that's all he's likely to get but really fancies and masturbates over images of a slim, svelte and petite nosed girl?

I've looked at some pictures that say to me "Well, anyone can see why that person is desired by this person", and others where I scratch my head. It reminds me of the Cephalic Morphology study done by the Department of Psychology at Birmingham University in the 1970s, where they discovered that head shape and psychological profile had precisely no relationship at all!

So what attracts us? And what attracts us to a picture - a thing devoid of scent or true emotion in the eyes?

I saw a TV show that said it was facial symmetry. Can't remember the name of the show though.

Difficult, Timmy, because circumstances alter things so!

Give me a set of images of (preferably naked) men and I'll choose one as prettiest. But I don't do pictures or fantasies during sex.

But in real life it's what goes on in people's heads that attracts me. After a while what people look like is almost irrelevant. (OK 'almost' is a bit too strong). It's brains and character for me, every time!

And if you give me a choice of real live breathing naked men I might be cool and analytic or over eager - and I suspect the latter. But it's a pretty unrealistic scenario. Even one real live breathing man would be nice!

Love,
Anthony

It has to be an undefinable quality that attracts. Otherwise ugly people would never be loved.

Presumably, however, the lover never considers the ugly loved one to be ugly.

Why then doesn't ugliness disappear through natural selection? I remember a boy I adored who had very plain parents.

These are rather random and muddled musings - sorry.

Hugs

Never of girls with big bulges in their blouses.

…and look forward to meeting you in Cóito.
