The question comes to mind (rhetorical) "Have you subscribed for mailings?"

879 people have, and hear as soon as I update the site, so why not you? It's easy to do, and its at the top of the forum and in the left hand margin of the main site.

The whole thing's automatic. I suppose I can check the list of email addresses to see who is on it, but why bother? The list is held on a secure server behind massive security, and I never, not ever, use it to send spam. And I most certainly don't give the data to anyone else at all!

I don't need a computer to do for me what I can do for myself. I use the story site main page to access the forum and can easily see when and what has been posted each day. If I miss a day or days there is the change listing at the bottom of the page.

My profession is programming business computers so I fully understand the value of automation; I also understand how wasteful misusing it can be.

Horses for course, Jim. Some folk are not as aware as you are.

Okay, so it's apparently just me. I was on the mailing list, timmy, then messages stopped coming through, since 15 January, even though new stories were being posted.

Tried to fix it by unsubscribing and then subscribing again on 24 Jan, but that hasn't worked either. Maybe your computer just hates my computer?

cheers

Hotmail, eh? That sometimes explains it. They sometimes just delete messages silently.

I think I used to subscribe, but now I know I do. ;-D ::-) Surprised ;-D

Darn near everything has always surprised me here. But should that come as a surprise?

Think good thoughts,
