It's very easy to get away with lies, especially on the internet, Timmy.
The question is what to do about it. Since I guess that the majority of stuff on the internet contains mistakes it's difficult.
At least when eminent people make serious errors like this they can be called out.
Love,
Anthony

It does not appear that she lied on the internet, though

OK, Timmy. She lied and it was videoed and then someone put it on the internet - in this instance to show up the lie.
Maybe it's on elsewhere without the quote from the police.

Anthony

Unbelievable, Timmy. I'm sure we all watched the media coverage of this horrible incident at the time it occurred. I don't recall at any time there being a report of Mathew being involved in a robbery attempt or that those men tied him up in an attempt to rob him. It was a hate crime pure and simple.
She will probably announce next that the Holocaust was a Jewish invention. The fact that there are people like this in positions of authority doesn't surprise me. What saddens me, though, is that there are people who accept her and vote for her.
