Delhi's High Court ruled that the law outlawing homosexual acts was discriminatory and a "violation of fundamental rights".

Disappointing that in decriminalising homosexual sex the court decided to preserve discrimination in the form of disparate ages of consent.

Heterosexual couples can have sex at 16 in India now, while the newly legal homosexual age of consent is set at 18.

Yes, Saben, but it is a great step forward and the disparity in the age of consent can be dealt with. There are an awful lot of people in India who will benefit from that precedent.
