It's a noble thing. Your putting some more drops n the bucket of everyone's experience that shows the world that gay people are just people like everyone else. In the long run, all of these drops will add up and mean more freedom to be who we are. The gay movement has come a long way, but even the youngsters are not really free to be themselves. For instance, I drove up to an amusement place, just as two guys exited. They had their arms around each other in an affectionate gesture, but when they saw us, their arms snapped back and they assumed a "more proper" manner, exchanging embarrassed smiles with each other. Maybe in the future people won't feel the need to be that way.

It's just the sheer weight of numbers, I think. And that is impressive

Macky, in England we don't say 'they exited' we say they 'came out' and it sounds to me as though that is what they actually did!

Macky, I see the touching and general hugging between younger gay guys and lesbians more than older gays. The younger seem to be most comfortable with an open display, where even older couples of any orientation are more reserve or private with displays of affection. I sure this has been discussed before. But your discription of how the boys snapped back from their hug brought back memories of when my boyfriend and I would kiss ever so discretely when in public back in the 70s. I am so pleased that to more degree that gay affection displays are more open and somewhat more accepted. Gay Pride in the 70s was years way in the "distant future".
