I have long made it my personal philosophy & policy to never get wrapped up into the on-line world of LGBT websites forums and the oft time temperamental atmosphere that accompanies them as folks, are freed from social restraints and niceties-read: polite manners, due to the use of anonymous 'user id's.' This choice is due to my chosen profession as a journalist whereby by ethics I should be reporting on the news not making the news.

This philosophy aside, I also am not in search of celebrity as I've no need to make a 'name' for myself and am quite content to be the profile of a stereotypical rumpled correspondent.
Long winded aren't I eh? Well, the preceding is in response to e-mails that I have received from some of the members here that have questioned my lack of participation. Continuing on though, over these past few months I have garnered considerable respect for the opinions that I have seen expressed here on IoMfAtS/POS's forum.
More-so, I have tremendous respect & affection for this site's owner, whose dry, very British, damn near laconic cheeky delivery of opinions always gives me a grin. Cheers to you Tim. (Of course, those of us that follow his blog are also treated to his infrequent 'phlogs' with the audio bits sounding like a member of the BBC's correspondents pool.) Thus, I have opted to join here and upon rare occasion, I'll post a comment or two or I'll throw an article up for your consideration on more topical matters.

Now, having wasted a tremendous amount of your valuable time with all this drivel, I'll proceed to the subject matter. In the recent discussions revolving around the coverage of the murders in Iraq of LGBT individuals, especially the young, it needs emphasis on this point; "They were killed because of their sexuality." That's it. In my 30 plus years as a correspondent, especially since I am mainstream press and not LGBT press, I have found that there is always a religious overtone to murders and LGBT assaults and attacks. More-so in societies that operate on a damn near theocratic level which, by the way, includes the United States and other so-called 'enlightened' secular cultures.

Intolerance is just that, intolerance. However, I can tell you, that it breeds hatred, LOTS of hatred. One of you made a comment regarding the attackers of the three Gay kids I wrote about in my column on Wednesday. It was stated that the writer didn't understand how the "Innocent" babies could grow up to be murderers. I can safely point the finger at religious zealots that indoctrinate individuals into their deplorable way of thought as the culprits.

Folks, look, I strive to point out things in my coverage that need to be exposed, factually, for what those things really are, their true colours as it were. BUT, and here's the caveat, BN&S is where I will also include an opinion or two of my own which normally I don't obviously.
I'd also like to publicly thank the membership both registered and not from here that have visited BN&S frequently. I hope you are getting something out of the articles that I post or write.

Warmest Regards to All.

Brody

We try very hard to avoid the prima donnas other forums have Smile My objective is to make this place free from crap and suitable for all age groups.

I know I'm digressing, but no gay kid coming here should be ashamed to show his parents the site, but, and this is important, we discuss some controversial topics, too, and try hard to do it unemotionally. We don;t always succeed.
