what I think about this website. It basically says Hitler's Christian War was a war of retaliation against an ever expanding group of enemies on all sides of Christian Germany. Very odd.

I do know how to express judgement on it - completely nuts.  [message #58905 is a reply to message #58901] Tue, 29 September 2009 10:45 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I have never encountered anything so loony outside religious fanaticism, Pat.

In my experience that has mostly been in the USA but I don't read Arabic or any middle or far eastern language and have never set foot in Africa or Asia (I don't count two days each in Singapore and Hong Kong). I expect examples could be found there too.

But isn't all this stuff a terrible waste of time? I don't think I should bother with it.

Love,
Anthony

This is typical propaganda with selective quotations. Goebbels, had he lived, would have been proud of it. The maps are meaningless as they are all postwar and are being used to demonstrate the prewar status of Europe. An interesting bauble, but of no further interest than that.

What Anthony wrote about this being a "waste of time" and not to bother with it, I don't feel that that would be a wise choice. The opinions of these men and women are strident enough that anyone and everyone should make comment or opinion. These folks may be nuts, but they are driven and focused. That makes a dangerous mix. In the USA, the fanatical right wing is ahead because of its fanaticism. It is similar to the kamakazi philosophy of stripping one's airplane to the bare minimum and then plow your plane into the target. The actions of these folks makes me realize that they no longer care about anyone or anything else but care only to their beliefs. Sorry to say but we are back to the Thirties. Doing nothing will be a disaster.

These people may be completely crazy but they truly believe what they say. Look at the site it is very well done for a collection of random stories. Look at the poles that they have too. That says a lot. When I first found the site I decided to ignore it but decided ignoring it was not a good way to go about dealing with them. The more people who know about them the better.

But I think these people live on publicity and everyone that takes notice of them adds to their credibility.

I think that the question to ask is 'What should a rational sensible person do to combat the irrational?" My view is that responding to the nutters is not the best way to do this. I respond to the apparently sociable prosyletisers of religion and to those bland views that try to encourage us to believe nonsense (like paracelsus' medicine or horoscopes or astrology).

I am appalled at the popularity of the writings of Dan Brown and anything that actually thinks people should concern themselves about the supernatural.

The only attitude to it that seems sensible to me is to ignore it. But I must admit I enjoyed Tanya Gold's welcome to the Pope; link here:

Someone goes onto CSPAN in order to express the very beliefs on the website. Everything from Jews caused 9/11 to the Zionist are trying to destroy (fill in whatever you want). They already have people to express adoration for their beliefs on any media outlet that will hear them. They say 95% of all media is controlled by Jews and their conspirators. Let's not forget that it was a rabid fringe movement that brought Hitler into power in the first place. With out the Great Depression and everything that led up to it WW2 and its side effects would have been prevented or lessened greatly. If the Radical Right had stayed deep underground after they gained power they would have been very hard to see through. This is above all an underground movement of radicals. Which makes them potentially dangerous especially right now.
