By Brody Levesque (Bethesda, Maryland) Nov 8 | From an article published by the pinknews.uk: Southwestern England now has a new website to serve LGBT folks there with resources and community connections.
LGBTcollective.org.uk will serve people living in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset and has a directory of groups and projects across the peninsula, an events diary and local news.

It was funded by the Big Lottery Trust and will be run by the Intercom Trust, a Devon-based gay charity.

According to a press release from the Intercom Trust, the collective is also a physical body of LGBT groups and projects who come together to discuss issues that matter for them and work on LGBT campaigns.

Robin Corser Langford from So Out in the south-west, a group for gay and bisexual men said: “This new website is fantastic. We have never before had a specific resource like this that has been designed by our own communities. It will enable everyone to see the wide range of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans groups and projects in the south west peninsula. I think people will be amazed at the sheer range of groups out there.”

Paul Roberts, Intercom’s community development manager, added: “We hope that by promoting this information, isolated LGBT people will find out there are resources in the peninsula for them. They may see a gap for new groups and projects to develop and if this is the case, we encourage them to get in touch. We are here to help see these things happen.”
