I came across this book review and they makes an interesting claim about Israel's Technological success. It looks like the authors give total credit to a very flat command structure in the mandatory military, that breeds a certain self-reliance. Makes sense to me.

I think I was trying, on so many levels, to say simply that we, all of whom have preconceptions about Israel need to throw those out and to learn afresh the reality of the nation.

This article is an interesting part of losing preconceptions and learning the realities. All technological advances happen because of some sort of combat need, or are created by those in a flat structure that enables free thinking. That exists in all successful corporations.

But it isn't just Israel. It isn't just countries.

I am, today, having what might loosely be termed a discussion with a rabid member of the US gay Bashing moral majority (self styled). The man is a boorish oaf and a fuckwit. Or is that fucktard? I have been keeping my cool and discussing things with him, and he has unleashed venom, fury and sexual innuendo (which we all know is an Italian suppository). His are preconceptions which need to be revisited as well.

I'm also actively promoting a blog that argues that the UK keeping DNA data on innocent people is unlawful and unreasonable, along with several other things I view as important.

Israel is simply an example, an interesting example, of how my own perceptions were altered by a visit and the openness to learn.

When we realise how little we know, then we may start to discover the truth.
