As an adult I worry about adult things. The economy, terrorism, my dirty socks...but all of that pales in comparison to what this young man worries about.

We speak of our distant youth, were we this thoughtful at his age? He may see this video as a means to an end, I should only hope he succeeds. But as of today he has only 200,000 hits, I would wish it to be in the millions.

So from the boy Down Under who began his career as a singer some years ago we have a social message. Don't feel pressed to donate, just absorb the truth in his message.

Hi Chris,

This clip has been on this board before, but I never tire of it. It exudes innocense and goodwill. Beautiful little kid, beautiful sentiment, it just makes one feel good. Thanks for sharing!

Max

PS The song made me think of a story I have been reading about homeless children....have you read "A Rend Boy Named...". It's quite touching too.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brothers to dwell together in unity!

There are 2 other versions of the video on youtube. One with almost 400,000 hits.

Another child (I can't call him a young man since he was only 9 when this video was made) with a message:

The wonderful thing about boys like Declan and Troye is that although they don't represent all the kids of their generation we can hope they speak for some of them.

Today kids are pushed and prodded to conform by adults and the media. Advertising tells them what to wear, eat and fear. The basic concerns of one human being for another are overlooked in the almighty rush to the pot of gold.

All the adult institutions have failed to address these issues, maybe it's time to listen to the children. If only we could.

So when a child tells us we need to question why such things as hunger and disease still exist in this modern world it's time we look for the answer. No matter how they make the appeal it's just gratifying to see that they do.
