For non UK folk, an MEP is a Member of the European Parliament. These are surprisingly important people despite very few if us having a clue what they do.

Have a look at Mr Chichester: http://timtrent.blogspot.com/2010/01/giles-chichester-mep-and-ugandan-kill.html which details his reply to a simple email enquiry asking his opinion of the proposed bill and what representations he had made and to whom.

He does not come out of it with honour.

Reply here with pleasure, but add a comment in the blog, too. The man needs to know how many people now know he is a complete arse.

Apart from what he says, Mr Chichester's method of thinking is so crass. Or is it that he hasn't thought. How can someone who relies on people's votes react in such an insensitive way?

And he has a reply. http://timtrent.blogspot.com/2010/02/my-reply-to-giles-chichester-mep-and.html

To make a point one sometimes has to drive it home with a very large mallet.

Your response to his lame response to you was by far kinder than any prose that would've flowed from my [digital] pen Tim. He's quite the political:

I believe in giving him sufficient rope. He has tied his noose already. I see it going over the lamppost next and then he will kick away the steps.
