Howdy Guys,

Just wanted to share this with you.

You...

I don't know why you did it and I really don't care,
You took all the happiness and now you won't share.
You took what I gave and you tore it apart,
It felt like a knife straight through my heart.
I tried to stay strong as I gave it my all,
But despite all the work I continue to fall.

I want you gone and out of my head,
I want you gone you heard what I said.
I want it to be over I wish we'd never met,
But what you want is not always what you get.

I just want to be free but your hold is relentless,
I fight the need but it really is pointless.
I've tried and I've tried and I've tried it again,
I've tried to the point where I'm going insane.
I want it to stop as I'm loosing the plot,
The pain and the hurt they're all that I've got.

The strength I've not got to stay resolute,
The single thought of you will always pollute,
My mind my heart my purpose and cause,
You continue to be my biggest of flaws.

Saddening but true the fact of this is,
My life, my love my whole will be his,
From now till forever my last hope I've resigned,
To waiting this out and trying to leave you behind.

It's a "Big Ouch" poem. Sounds like you know whereof you write. It's scarey. But, thank God, I never had a 'big ouch' and reading this will help me refrain from ever being a 'big ouch' for anyone else.

THank you.

Hi, Tempo. What happened to you? That sounds really bad.

I had the impression that things were going better with you and from this it sounds as if they went sour. I'm very sorry. I hope it gets better soon.

Love,
Anthony

Congratulations, I always knew you had it in you.
So many of your poems have been inspiring.
Perhaps one day someone will publish them all.

I liked the poem. Even though I'm not at that point in my relationship, it still speaks to everyone, even if we are the "you".

Just before I congratulate you, this isn't something like poetry.com is it? This is a real anthology, not a somewhat odd business?

Nope... Well at least by first glance it doesn't look the same.

A few similar traits as poetry.com but there is an actual printed anthology that gets published for resale in South Africa and its neighbouring countries... not 100% sure how poetry.com works along those lines, but the Poetry Institute of Africa is not a 'DIY' poetry book.

Well, here's hoping. If it's genuine, and if it really selects poems and rejects them, too, then you have my heartiest congratulations. Poetry.com is an operation to sell at high price an anthology and tickets to receive awards at expensive venues. I have not had a single poem rejected there!
