Aussie,
You have an interesting way of looking at things. It may be a bit lascivious, but there is something nice in comparing a crocus ready to pop into bloom with a phallus ready to pop into...ummm....whatever.

So not true! If you were having Spring, we'd be in Autumn, or Fall, and we don't want that! (Just getting used to Summer here).
Mind you, the power of earthquakes shouldn't be underestimated. We had one, in an uninhabited area at the bottom of the South Island, and it moved the whole damm country a couple of inches closer to Australia. Not sure if that's a good thing.;-D
I agree with Aussie's comment though - nice pic & very phallic.
(And please don't remind Nigel about the Equinox. It's my life's ambition to beat him to post about it.)
cheers

It's surprising how many things in nature do appear phallic - apart from phalluses, of course (or phalli for the pedants!), but then they're bound to.

Are not the blossoms and seeds the orgasm of a plant or flower? I can't remember my botany but I have a vague recollection of the reproduction of a floral organism. So Max caught the buildup to one fantastic orgasm yet to be.

Oh, excuse me.
The pollen..the seed...yeah..that can't be mother nature can it? Who does mother nature shack up with? Whoever he is is about to burst into the bloom of a beautiful orgasm. Ray, you just have to write a poem about that. Makes me think.
Has anyone ever written a poem about an orgasm? I think orgasms are a lot more poetic than a lot of stuff poems are written about.

But Aussie told me he was having Autumn! How can he be in Autumn, and you just inches away, are experiencing Summer? Something's not right. Maybe Aussie meant the autumn of his life. He is a very poetic sort of dude, you know.

In an attempt to tell you about a new English word that I have recently learned, I'll say this to you, Nigel.
"Diphallia"
'Tis a medical term for a condition recognized by one having 2 phalii. This is common for the western rattlesnake, but is an abnormality that sometimes occurs in humans. Yep, do the word in google images.
Oh, the things you can learn by reading the dictionary. I shall never give up looking up dirty words, a habit I've had since I was 8.

I've been reading the dictionary, Max. The story's not much good, but it does explain the words rather well. ;-D

Max, We're in the early stages of Autumn - otherwise known as 'Denial'.
Inches away from Aussie? Not really - Auckland to Sydney is further than London to Moscow.

Aussie, New Zealand, Hawaii, and Alaska. God! Let's tip our hats and bow our heads in memory of the late great Captain Cook. Tell me again, how many liters of rum did he have on that ship? Defies the imagination, it does. I mean the places he went to, not the drink he consumed.

He used a far older measure than the litre. Barrels have their own sizes, and not in oil measure.

Equinox, Shmequinox! Spring? Autumn? Ha! Here today we have "glorious summer" (without this son of York): 32°C - and tomorrow we are promised "a further rise in temperatures".

You're right Timmy! Recently read a book by Tony Horwitz
"Blue Latitudes: Boldly Going Where Captain Cook Has Gone Before"
The book gave an inventory of the rum, beer, and wine carried on Cook's voyages. It sounded as though it was enough to make the ship list. A 150,000 mile party boat excursion!

Kiwi said "AirNZ dropping the fares? Yeah and pigs might fly!"
You might be better off to buy one of those personal jetpacks (from Christchurch) and fly yourself over.

That does look like fun, Aussie. But, i dunno - think i'd prefer the flying hovercraft that a Nelson guy built. This kiwi's not very good at flying.
I've been to Oz, and liked it, but i'd rather be here! My cousin died in Melbourne, a week ago & we buried him here on Wednesday. The list of instructions he left started, "Do NOT leave me here with all these Ockers."
cheers

Sorry about your cousin and hope he is resting peacefully on home soil.

Where I live we just got over a record snowfall. We had snow drifts up to the roof of our house but we live on the water so we get more wind. School was out for a week, it was so cool!
Now the bulbs in our garden are starting to pop out of the ground and my mom is all like, o I can hardly wait for the gardens to be ready for planting. This is great except my brother and I are the ones who do all the digging. He is at college now so guess who the digger is going to be.

Max, you have to at least have a tinny welded to your hand and wear thongs, perhaps the other dress is optional. Do you think you still qualify?
I suspect your accent would rule you out. We even ban Kiwis because of their accent and we can pick it a mile off.
Aussie
ps I qualify on two of the criteria but dip out because of the tinny.
