Tomorrow, 20 March, the sun will cross the Equator at 17.32 hrs GMT/UTC just off the coast of Ecuador in its apparent journey northwards.
Hugs

I dream of boys with big bulges in their trousers,
Never of girls with big bulges in their blouses.
…and look forward to meeting you in Cóito.

What if everyone is wrong and the sun really does go north and south every year?

What do you mean, Timmy, 'wrong'. Everyone is right: where they are wrong is the definition of north and south. Mercator drew everything upside down because he lived in the southern hemisphere and mistakenly called it the northern hemisphere.
The original plan was to have the maps drawn from the Australian point of view with some proper land on top!

I've been waiting & waiting, counting down the days and even wrote it on my hand before i went to bed last night. Got up this morning, at 5am and you've beaten me to it!
Well done, Nigel. You win again - this time!
Thanks Anthony. I've always thought that the maps were upside down. Stands to reason - look at all the extra land in the 'northern' hemisphere. If that was really on top, the world would just tip upside down.
cheers
