Basically a book about the struggle of an extreme fundamentalist Christian mother with a a gay son, who commits suicide on Aug. 27 1983, to learn how to understand her child.

The movie came out in 2009 on Lifetime. It's rather sad and almost a story of Mary Griffith's renewal.

It's a worthwhile read, not just the article, but the comments also. I quote one:

I pray the parents love their child enough for that love to be unconditional.

Frankly, we think such laws are silly. They do young people more harm than good. How can you possibly ask questions on a gay forum without coming out to your parents if you need consent?
