The print is small, but the message is quite novel!

... that the Ku Klux Klan is now apparently a Limited Liability Company; one with a DOT.BZ web-site; and an e-Commerce Store-front.

- or -

That they, through this dislaimer to the attached press release (although it's not apparent which one), vehemently disavow any association with the Westboro Baptist Church or any of its' activities.

Simply incredible is what it is!

Thank you "J F R®". I really, really, needed to laugh, and laugh I did.

I double-checked. It seems that this really is for real.

I have mentioned the Wrong (as opposed to right) Reverend Fred Phelps before in postings, I did in fact have a brief conversation with the lunatic say...20 years ago?

I attended the placement of the AIDS Project quilt on the Washington Mall in D.C., and did in fact volunteer to help lay that monsterous display out for the days of the memorial. And there of course was Freddie Phelps with his God Hates Fags sign.

At the time we met he was surrounded by gay and lesbian folk who would have loved to tear him to pieces, I had similar thoughts myself. But he is a small minded, slender bodied man who would make about two bites for German Shepard, I wished that I had brought mine.

Our conversation was brief: "You're a F**king idiot," I yelled.

"God loves a sinner," He yelled back. (we were yelling because the crowd was making so much noise you wouldn't have heard his bones break).

And that was our entire exchange because the National Park Police escorted him away back to the public street. The AIDS Project had a permit to use the grounds, Freddie seems to have forgotten his.

But he was there for the AIDS marches and the occasional Gay Pride parade. Some might think him brave, but he's deranged, and what I find worse is that he brings his family along which puts them in danger.

Now he is in the news for protesting with his warped sense of Christian duty at military funerals. The God Hates Fags sign is still there only now homosexuals are being blamed for the wars and deaths overseas. Freddie obviously knows nothing about the American military, gays and lesbians aren't allowed in the services. What is he thinking? Obviously not much! Razz

They are now being sued (again). The difference is the case has reached the Supreme Court. The comments are strong to put it lightly.

I'll tell you something Raymundo: Years ago I lived in Washington DC and was close to all the invectives and hatred aimed at the gay community. At the time Senator Jessie Helms was the devil incarnate.

The ACTUP DC group attracted me for a couple of years, I was friends with then president of the radical gay organization Steve Michaels. He was HIV positive and died some years later, but the image of us all standing at the fence around the White House yelling "Shame" has stayed with me.

I was part of the crew that inflated a giant condom in the front yard of Helm's Virginia home, it was a technical materpiece of street theatre, pictures made it into the paper. Of course they did, we invited the media.

Helms personified that hatred for me and I swore I would love to dance on his grave. I moved away several years before Helms died, I missed my chance for the dance.

On the other hand, Freddie Phelps is just an idiot. But if he keeps picking on military veteran's funerals I don't give him much longer on this earth, someone will offer us the final solution for this man.

He can share space in hell with Helms (wish I believed in hell), either way, I still have my tap shoes. ;-D

Just read a timely piece on Yahoo News. The infamous fred phelps could actually be well within his constitutional rights to protest at Matthew Snyder's funeral. phelps did petition for a permit to protest at the funeral and did stay in the designated area assigned to his group. And the galling issue seems to be that phelps should win in order to keep the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution rather intact. I can hardly believe that the outcome to this Supreme Court trial could have profound effects on the 1st Amendment. I couldn't get the link up correctly so I'm doing it old fashion: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_funeral_protest
I think I could use a hug.
