I don't suppose I am the only one who follows the news online. I do because it's too hard to wrestle the newspaper out of my father's hands each morning Smile

But along with my daily dose of national and local news I look for the issues that affect my gay community and none serves me better than:
http://brodylevesque.blogspot.com/search?q=

Brody has reached a small milestone, his blog has been presented now for one year and has quite a following. Considering his career as a mainstream journalist I have no idea when he finds the time to keep up with this posting, but I'm very glad he does.

My father was a journalist for 35 years, mainstream, large news services, White House beat. He's still a passionate man in personal life, but when he wore that reporter's hat he was never more than factual. Good news reporting allows the reader to make judgements if the facts are all there, so much of the media today is tainted with an agenda.

Brody's presentation of the news and events that affects the gay world is factual and concise. There is little in the way of personal rants although many of the articles do incite grave thoughts about how gay people are treated. When so much of the gay media has degenerated into tabloid status I find Brody a solid resource of good information.

So now you know, he's been at it a year and I hope to be around when he finishes out the decade. This forum is a place to rant, we all do it, it's a part of this place of safety. But if you haven't already lets give Brody a thank you for his efforts to keep us all informed. He deserves it.

Age appears to be best in four things; old wood best to burn, old wine to drink, old friends to trust, and old authors to read. (Sir Francis Bacon 1561-1626)

... and where can I get a piece of that "Birthday" cake. You've got to love those rainbow layers, and, LOL, semen-coloured icing!

Just kidding Brody; but, I'm anal-retentive enough to have thought that thought, whereas others might not have.

Whilst you and I haven't always agreed upon a topic or two, or three ... let us both simply agreed that I feel you deserve every accolade you may receive for your devotion to the cause of righting injustice and shedding hope to a troubled youth in our World.

Brody knows that he is my favourite newsman. He knows because I have told him so.

The paradox has often been noted that the United States, founded in secularism, is now the most religiose country in Christendom, while England, with an established church headed by its constitutional monarch, is among the least. (Richard Dawkins, 2006)
Is it to be BFR then?  [message #62181 is a reply to message #62171] Sun, 25 April 2010 20:28 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Careful, JFR, lest you have a name change. Or is Brody to be JFRsFN?
(JFRS Favourite Newsman)

But without any offence to Brody I think it fair to say that few have been as loveable or as loved as Jamie (grasshopper) himself. Way to go!

Love,
Anthony
