There are lots of good efforts going on to get rid of subject brainfart. I suppose they got this old guys permission; or maybe his descendants permission, to send this letter to Obama.

Thank you for sharing that, Max...a touching story indeed.

Over the years so many gay rights groups have sprung up, too many to keep track of in my life. But I have contributed to only one in all this time, the Human Rights Campaign seems to stand for everything I want to support. I encourage others to do the same.

I have never been a fan of bumper stickers espousing any causes, but over the years all my vehicles have displayed that small blue sticker with the equals sign. The HRC keeps me supplied.

Living in the US southland it's often difficult to see the gay world around me. But in gas stations and grocery parking lots I see that HRC sticker and don't feel so alone. I've had more than a few conversations over that sticker on my car, not all who display it are gay or lesbian people. It's just good to see the support is out there.
