Cory Booker is the Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, and has recently been quoted in the media as having said:
“I find it very strange that some people have just enough religion to make their hate but not enough religion to make them love one another.”
Continuing, he added, “To be able to choose someone as your life partner and to be able to proclaim that to the world…is such an intimate personal issue but also should be a fundamental right in the United States of America.”
As happenstance would have it, as Mayor, Cory Booker has the power to perform legal marriages, but he said, “Until I can marry people equally, I don’t think I should be doing it all.”
